Engagement Manager (Sustainability)

£90,000 – £140,000 total on target compensation

Re_Set, the boutique strategy consultancy for innovation, disruption and sustainability, is expanding its senior capabilities in sustainability.

Working alongside Sue Garrard, one of the world’s foremost experts in the topic, and the rest of the world class team of Re_Set consultants, this is a unique opportunity for an individual who is eager to build a consultancy practice in sustainability.

The role combines the best of strategy consulting, sustainability practice, start-up environment, with business as a force for good as the underlying mission.

What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Leading multiple projects simultaneously with autonomy
  • Planning, structuring and managing projects end to end, including at all stages from pitch, delivery, recommendation and follow-up
  • Structuring, managing and coaching small project teams of 2-4 consultants
  • Acting as Reset’s in-house sustainability expert, providing guidance on projects and training to junior members of staff
  • Ensuring written deliverables, client meetings and workshops are best-in-class
  • Owning client relationships and ensuring excellent stakeholder management
  • Playing an active role in business development, from delivering pitches to pro-actively seeking new opportunities
  • Participating in the company’s PR activities, including speaking at events, contributing to thought leadership pieces and general social and online presence
  • Leveraging your expertise to develop the company’s set of tools and methodologies
  • Pro-actively playing a role in internal RE_SET initiatives, such as leading marketing or recruiting initiatives

  • Strategy consulting experience
  • Demonstrable experience as a sustainability practitioner at a senior level
  • Ability to get stuck in – a keenness to contribute to the delivery of projects is a must: demonstrable analytical and quantitative skills, including financial modelling

  • Experience of managing people and coaching consultants along the way

Requirements

 

Must Have:

 

  • Minimum 6-10 years of professional work experience with at least two years in strategy consulting.
  • At least 2 years of managing people / teams
  • Experience as a sustainability practitioner at a senior level
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial or innovation role
  • Excellent academic record from a top tier university
  • Perfect command of English, both written and oral
  • Expert in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrable ability to structure and develop quantitative excel models, analysis and deliver top quality presentations.
  • Digitally savvy and able to fluently converse in key business concepts
  • Comfortable interacting with senior clients and building new professional relationships

 

Desired:

 

  • Existing relationships with senior clients
  • Expertise across Strategy, Innovation, B2C sustainability, Digital Transformation or Cultural Change

Further Details

  • Location: 80% based at our office in Somerset House. Occasional travel to client sites around London and the UK, dependent on projects.

Consultant

£40,000 – £60,000 total on target compensation

 

What You’ll Be Doing

Owning work streams and supporting small projects, with a balance of guidance and autonomy

Planning, structuring and delivering project research, analysis and recommendations in the form of written deliverables, client meetings and workshops

Assisting in the running of client meetings and facilitating project workshops between small stakeholder groups

Continuously learning and keeping up to date on relevant market trends, industry news, and technical tools that are relevant to RE_SET sectors and our work more generally

Participating in the company’s PR activities, including writing articles and designing and uploading content to the company’s website and selected social networks

Contributing to developing the company’s set of tools and methodologies

Contributing to, and producing, RE_SET proposals and pitch materials

Pro-actively playing a role in internal RE_SET initiatives, such as marketing and recruiting

What We Look For

Previous excellent delivery in a consulting role, with a strong track record of achieving great results

Experience in advanced analytics and visualisation tools (Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, etc.)

Freelance Senior Consultant

We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant to support with an exciting Re_Set project. At Re_Set we work with businesses that see business as a force for good and this project is no exception.

You will be working on a high profile innovation programme that will have a significant sustainable impact on an emerging sector of the economy. You would be working with an existing Re_Set team and would have direct exposure with the client and would lead on key elements of the delivery.

More details will be provided at the interview and strictly under NDA.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Planning, structuring and facilitating hackathons and/or open innovation challenges.
  • Owning workstreams and managing elements of the project, with a balance of guidance and autonomy
  • Planning, structuring and delivering project research, analysis and recommendations in the form of written deliverables, client meetings and workshops
  • Running client meetings and facilitating project workshops between small stakeholder groups

 

What We Look For

  • Previous excellent delivery in a professional services role, with a strong track record of achieving great results

The Process

The recruiting process takes  4 – 6 weeks on average, from submitting your application to receiving an offer. We will respond to all applications but please allow up to a week to hear back from us. There are usually 3 steps in the process which include;

1 Phone Interview

This is a short 20 – 30 minute phone call. The purpose of the call is for us to understand your experience and motivations in more detail, as well as to discuss your current situation (e.g. notice period and availability for interviews over the coming weeks.).

We will also explain more about our hiring process and provide you with the opportunity to ask any questions that you might have at this stage.

2 Competency Interviews

This round consists of two 45 minutes interview with Re_Set consultants. As well as a chat to get to know, the first interview will be mostly competency based whereas the second interview will consist of a short 30 minute case study.

3 Case Study & Founder Interviews

The final round in the interview process consists of two 30 minute interviews with our co founders. This is followed by an introduction to a case and 45 – 60 minutes to prepare and structure a plan.

Finally, you will be asked to present your plan to up to 3 or 4 members of the team for 15 minutes, after which there will be a Q&A and an informal discussion on your approach and plan.
